Recent Eats

Despite being busier at work than usual, I've been very motivated to cook recently. Unfortunately, due to my general rubbishness, I didn't take pictures of many delicious things so here are my humble offerings to you, lovely blog reader :)

Spicy birthday sausage (haha, double entendres are so much fun) from my lovely friend Jhenn over at Vegan Ronin:

Creamy tofu, vegetable and brown rice pie which I bought at the Kyoto Vegetarian Festival:

The pie and some soup that I concocted out of pumpkin, carrot, sweet potatoe, onion, garlic, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and garam masala:

The same soup again the next day but I thinned it out with some soya milk, added more chilli and fresh black pepper, and sprinkled paprika and cayenne on the top:

Genmai (brown Japanese short-grain rice) with some kind of spicy gluten, pepper, spinach thing that I randomly created. I was craving General Tao's tofu but I wanted to use up the ingredients I had on hand:

Quadruple Spice Tofu Scramble :)

The quadruple part refers to the fact that I used chipotle, jalapeno, taco seasoning and hot sauce:

Japanese-style curry with eggplant, carrot, potato, pumpkin and onion chunks:

Tara - I buy curry roux from Natural House (a chain health food kinda store). You can order it online from Tengu and Warabe Mura too I believe. But yeah, all the other ones have nasty meat extracts :(
